
Trager Approach Mentastics
Trager is a pioneering holistic method, where the therapist using theweight of the client's body, with gentle rhythmic movements, gentle shaking, mobilizationsjoints, stretching and other manipulations, helps to relax, get rid of chronicpains, increasing joint range of motion and general physical and mental well-being.
According to the method, chronic pain and musculoskeletal dysfunctions are symptoms accumulated tension that may result from an accident, incorrect posture, phobia, emotional blockage and everyday stress.
In a Trager session, the patient is lying on a comfortable bed, wearingcomfortable clothes. The therapist, with gentle manipulations and rhythmic movements conveys a sensationcalmness and comfort throughout the body.
After a period of continuous rhythmic movements the body enters deeper levels of relaxation at which deep-seated release can be facilitated unhealthy tension patterns affecting the subconscious. At this way, the mind "unlearns" these unhealthy patterns (blockages) as a result of which the body also release from chronic tension situations and become more flexible with less pain and a sense of lightness.
