LGBTQ Psychotherapy
The search for sexuality is an internalized process that drives the individualeither in discomfort or in harmony with his own identity and then in his acceptance. THEthe road to acceptance is long and difficult, while many times it becomes unattainabledue to societal homophobia and lack of support for the individual. Despite positive stepsthat have been noted towards the equal inclusion of the LGBTI population in society, are neededstill many steps to be taken. Most of society has grown up with it perception that being gay is sick and unfortunately has not been freed from such prejudices not even today.
It is therefore important that the therapist is freed from any prejudices inthese topics but above all to be informed and to understand the terminology thatprevalent in the community.
The acceptance, understanding and support of people who are in their own internal search is a source of inspiration and impetus which can become the basis for both this- their acceptance as well as for their social interactions.
